Event Settings & Features

Learn more about certain functionalities and features for events on the Admin Dashboard.

Sharing Events

When you create an event on the Admin Dashboard, depending on the event visibility and registration status, it will be available for players to join on respective Gaming or Play Network (i.e. the Disney Lorcana Play Network or the Riftbound Gaming Network).

To copy the link to the live event page, click on the link icon on the right side of the event page. Paste the link into your browser to visit the event page that the players will see when they register for your event.

To open a QR code that links to the live event page, click on the QR icon.

This will open the QR code which can be downloaded and shared.

Event Visibility Status

  • Scheduled – Events will be listed and searchable by players on the event locator

  • Canceled – Events will still show in search but will not run

  • Unlisted – An active event that will not show up in the search for players, but will still be accessible by direct link (for private invites, etc.)

  • Archived – Events will be canceled and removed from search

Registration Status

  • Registration Open – Players can register for the event on the live event page

  • Registration Closed – Players cannot register for the event on the live event page, but can still be added manually by Tournament Organizers on the Admin Dashboard in the Players tab of the event

  • Requires Invitation – Players cannot register for the event on the live event page, but can be invited by the Tournament Organizer adding them manually on the Admin Dashboard in the Players tab of the event

To make further adjustments to event registration, open the event and click on Settings to view the Registration Settings section:

Here the you can adjust the following settings:

  • Show Registration Button – Display the registration button to players

  • Auto-close When Full – Automatically close registration when max capacity is reached

  • Auto-open and Auto-close registration – Leave blank to open and close manually

Note: When a player drops themself from an event that has auto-closed due to the max capacity being reached, the registration will automatically re-open to allow another player to fill their spot.

Player Check-In Options

  • Code – Generates an alphanumeric check-in code on the internal event page. Store owners can display the check-in code in store or send it to players, but it's not shared with players via Carde.io. Players can use the check-in code field on the public event page to check themselves in or they can be checked in by organizers at the event

  • Organizer Only – Organizers can manually check players in when they are physically present at the event

  • Not required – No check-in required

Note: Check-in options do not restrict event registration, only check-in after registration

TV Mode

During an event, you can use TV Mode to open a separate page that displays the round Pairings, Standings, or Roster. This can be projected on to a TV or other screen for players, Tournament Organizers, and other event attendees to view and keep up with the tournament.

Open TV Mode

To launch TV Mode:

  1. Open the event in the Admin Dashboard

  2. On the right side of the event page, click the three dots (...)

  3. Click on Open TV Mode

Click on the Fullscreen button in the top right corner to display the page in fullscreen mode.

To display a specific range of names:

  1. Click the settings icon in the top right corner

  2. Check the Filter by name range box

  3. Enter the letter range to filter the names by

Note: The TV Mode pages do not automatically update as the event progresses, so be sure to refresh the page to show the most recent state of the event.

Pairings View

The Pairings view shows the published pairings for the current round of the event. It displays the player's first name, their game record, and the current results for the round in progress.

Standings View

The Standings view displays the following information:

  • Rank

  • Player name

  • Points

  • Record

  • OMWP

  • GWP

  • OGWP

Roster View

The Roster view shows all of the players registered for the event. If check in is required, it also displays their check in status (Checked in or Not Checked in). Players with a Canceled registration status will not show on the Roster page.

Bulk Canceling Events

Steps to bulk cancel events:

  1. Navigate to the Events page on the Admin Dashboard

  2. Click the check boxes to the left of the Event Name

  3. Click the Actions drop-down in the upper right

  4. Click Cancel Selected

  5. Confirm whether any paid registrations should be refunded

  6. Click Cancel X Events

Canceling events will remove them from public listings and notify registered players.
