Event Phases

This guide is an overview of how event phases work, including the various event phase settings and how to edit them.

Updated yesterday

After creating an event on the 2.0 Dashboard, navigate to Events and then click on the Tournament tab to bring up the event phases.

Important notes:

  • Phases can only be edited before they start

    • If an event has a Swiss phase and a Top Cut, the Swiss phase can be edited before starting the event and the Top Cut can be edited at any point before the Top Cut begins

  • Phases can be un-started using the Undo button in the upper right of the page up until the first result has been submitted for the first round in the phase

Adding, Deleting, and Rearranging Phases

To add a phase to an event, click on the "+ Add Phase" button on the right-hand side of the Tournament tab. A Top 8 or Top 4 phase can quickly be added, or a custom phase:

To delete a phase, click on the pencil icon to edit the phase, then click the trash bin icon at the bottom of the module:

Confirm the deletion by clicking the Delete Phase button:

To rearrange the phases in an event, click on Edit Phase Order then click and drag the phase modules to reorder them. Click on Finish Editing to finalize the order of the phases.

Power Pair Last Round

Regular Swiss logic balances pairings to avoid rematches and maintain bracket fairness. The "Power Pair Last Round" option modifies how the final round of a Swiss phase is paired. When enabled, it ensures that the highest-ranked players are directly matched against each other, regardless of standard Swiss pairing logic.

Hide Last Round Standings

When enabled, this option will hide the last round standings on the player site.

Requirement to Enter Phase

This option determines how players qualify for that phase.

  • No Cut

  • Cut by Points

  • Cut by Standing

Note: This setting applies to the phase being edited, not an upcoming phase.
