Hello Retail Partners,

We're excited to bring new promotional support to your store. Starting in late April, stores approved for Riftbound organized play will receive a supply of Flash promo cards to distribute to customers who are engaging with Riftbound, giving you a great tool to help new players get involved and reward your community.

Flash_In_Article_Card

Currently only available through the Proving Grounds box set, Flash is a powerful card that hasn't been easy for most players to get their hands on. This initiative changes that, giving new and existing players a chance to earn a card they actually want by engaging with Riftbound at your store.

How It Works

Players can receive a Flash promo by engaging with Riftbound in any of the following ways:

  • Playing in a Nexus Night or Summoner Skirmish (minimum one match)

  • Teaching or mentoring a new player

  • Bringing a new player who registers and participates in the event

    • The new player must register for and participate in the event

    • The existing player must be directly responsible for bringing them to the event. Stores should use reasonable discretion when assessing this criteria

  • Taking part in any other Riftbound organized play activity

  • Purchasing any Riftbound product

Players can earn one copy per day, but can earn multiple copies over time.

A Few Things to Keep in Mind

  • Promos should be tied to engagement. Please don't distribute them on request at the counter

  • New players and active players should be prioritized

  • Flash promos are not to be sold for initial distribution and should not be used as competitive placement prizes

  • You have flexibility in how you run this within these guidelines

Flash Promo – Store FAQ

Can stores give promos to customers upon request?

No. Promos must only be distributed to players who participate in organized play or directly support the play environment.

How many promos can a player receive?

Stores should distribute no more than one promo per player per day.

Can Flash be used as prizing for competitive placement?

No. Flash is a participation-based promo and should not be reserved for top finishers or used as placement prizing.

Can stores distribute promos outside of Nexus Night or Summoner Skirmish? Yes. Stores may distribute promos during other Riftbound activities, provided distribution is tied to active participation or onboarding new players.

What should stores do if they run out of promos?

Promos should be distributed consistently and in alignment with these guidelines while supplies last.

Can players receive multiple copies over time?

Yes. Players may receive additional copies across multiple days, but not more than one per day.

Can stores restrict promos to new players only?

No. Promos should be available to all participating players. Stores are encouraged to ensure new players have a fair opportunity to receive one.

Can stores sell Flash promos?

No. Flash promos are not to be sold for initial distribution.

What is the intent of this promo?

Flash is being distributed to increase access to a widely played card and to support in-store participation.

What qualifies as “bringing a new player”?

A “new player” is someone who is attending a Riftbound event at your store for the first time or has not previously participated in organized play.

Can the same “new player” be used multiple times for rewards?

No. Players should only be considered “new” once for the purpose of promo distribution.

What if players attempt to abuse the system (e.g., bringing non-participants)?

Promos should only be awarded if the new player actively participates in the event. Stores should not distribute promos for non-participants and may withhold promos in cases of suspected abuse.
